December challenges

Still fighting with cough for almost 3 weeks and the progress is relatively slow, at least his lungs are still clear which makes me relieve. No warded, nebulizer machine or suction. After all, he is still an active baby and the feeding is still ok. Please get well soon honey!!

She was struck with an ear pain, crying in the middle of the night complaining about the pain and all of us couldn't sleep. We went to the nearest hospital for a further check up and she was referred to the E&T specialist the next day and the main reason for this pain is due to her flu. We are still monitoring her, giving her supplement and no swimming activity at the moment

Clinics and hospital are our 2nd home for this month, going back and forth for the check up and advise. January, please be kind to me, wish the four of us will stay healthy and wishing for a prosperous life

Can’t believe it’s already Nov and sorry for the long hiatus. The writer needs a break, a short vacation will help I think. Year end will come soon and this time around, people will go crazy for the KPI review. After all, you will not get what you are supposed to get; when your performance result is already set by someone though you deserve to get better!! Sounds familiar?? This is all about political!! Ok now, stop bout this crap!!

My charming prince will turn 4 months young soon and I can’t wait to see him grow bigger and smarter each day!! Talking about him, he has just recovered from a bronchitis in October and I’ve try my best to deal with it. I’ve had a hard time in October dealing between his illness and works, so dear November, please be good to me. I hope I can achieve something for this month!!

I have so many projects to do; the scrapbooking, gardening, wall painting, house deco and the list goes on and on. The planning is there, but as usual, the time doesn’t permit me!! By hook or by crook, I must start with any one of this project before 2011 closes its window!!Wish me luck!!

Finally discharged

Alhamdulillah, he finally discharged yesterday evening though not 100% cured. At the meantime, he'll be staying with my mom. To my beloved family and friends, thank you for your visit and support.

"tak nak kawan bibik" - I realized, she used this word with me and most of our family members when she disagrees with us
"Busuk bibik ni" - This is not what she meant actually, she uses this whenever she mad at someone, even with me..At first, I was surprised when she used this, but I was relieved at least she didn't use this word;"bodoh". But for those people who are not close with us will think she really meant it
"bibik tak gosok gigi,gigi kuning" - This is really funny when my mom tells me the story, didn't know where she get the idea, but I always told her to brush her teeth.Tak tahulah bibik tu faham apa yang dia cakap, kalau dia faham mungkin terasa kan??tapi dia hanya budak kecil yang bakal berumur 3 tahun..haisshh..
"Bibik ni nak kena ni" - Now she really used my words and applied it..lol.. she can't get along with stranger, kesian bibik, tak pasal-pasal kena marah dengan si budak kecil, padahal tiada apa yang nak dipersalahkan, ada saja yang tak kena..haishh..

The princess is now at my parents’ house; been isolated from her brother until she is fully recovered. Unlike others, she remains active as usual and not so cranky

We left her last night when she was asleep and this morning, she was looking for her brother. I called it a sister’s love and they are inseparable. Hope she’s doing well and I miss her!!

Jealousy is still there but she is so protective to her brother. Not to forget, she is my little helper. Currently at 39 weeks + 3 days with frequent urinating, swollen feet, an increase in vaginal discharged + tiredness
The hospital bag is 90% completed
Can't wait for the 2nd junior to arrive and I'm nervous. It's time to finalize his name too!!
Doc advised me to monitor the baby movement, he must be kicking at least 10 times a day and I'm taking her advise
Don't feel any painful contraction yet except the BH but I guess the labor sign will be the same as my previous pregnancy, it starts with a blood show
I'm on medical leave; for some rest and the birth preparation..

p/s: baby weight was 3.35kg as per last week check up :) and it reminds me of Aqilah's words;'Mama tak gemuk pon, mama besar je' hmm..which I guess both are still the same!!

I want and island vacation to relax my mind and soul. Snorkeling is in my list
I love music and my parents sent me for a piano class when I was 6, I learnt only for a day and now I'm much regretted. I must learn it someday and I found Aqilah has the same interest with me
Bought an anklung back in June 2010;had a chance to play it once but most of the time it was conquered by Aqilah and now it is kept and safe in a box. I need some time to unpack this and display it somewhere in my house, at the same time to sharpen my skill

Tuesday's Rambling

4 more weeks to go with butterflies in my stomach. Though this is my 2^nd pregnancy, I’m still nervous. Bosses start asking, but I know how to play my part. Most of my tasks are completed and the job handover is done, nothing to worry
Little princess - she is able to walk though still limping, the doc said it takes 1 month to recover. We tried our luck by bringing her to watch a movie, and my guess was right. We spent only half an hour and she wanted to go out. What a waste!!
Something happened to my other half and this is a lesson learnt to him and a reminder to me. People will do anything to get what they want. This is life though you think life is unfair, but there must be something good in return behind this. Insya Allah
Blame my pregnancy hormone!! I forgot it was a father’s day and didn’t give anything special to him though he astonished me on Mother’s Day. Sorry dear..

We've been doing this almost every week. If hubby is not around, we get accompanied by my siblings. Initially, I was planning to send her for a swimming class, but she learnt it by observation and listening to instructions given by us and her skills improve week by week. Now, it saves my penny!!

The baby sex is finally revealed and we are happy with the news. Living in 29 weeks without hubby around for a month and everything are OK. Time flies and it's May while I'll be deliver in July. Nervous I must say though this is my 2nd pregnancy and afraid to go through all the labour pain. Hope everything will be fine

A story about us

April comes and time flies, the 2^nd trimester will be over soon and I must start ganti my puasa. Again, I’m mentally and physically prepared when hubby will be away for 2 months starting April. Some were worried about me but trust me, I’ll be ok. The other half suggested me to use the laundry service to ease me but we’ll see how it goes. Thank god, the office workload is still bearable though sometimes I easily get annoyed with something unexplainable.

I was overwhelmed this evening when Aqilah manage to recite a doa makan, though she only remember ‘Allahumma’ she managed to follow the doa after me. Alhamdulillah she’s trying and learning. The teacher said she is so much talkative and very concern about her friends, that means a good sign to me where she can cope with our new environment and life.

Something is waiting for my other half, maybe this is what we called rezeki anak, but I must say, my heart and soul are meant to be here. Transferring to east coast is an option to me but so many excuses and decision to think about.

This is what happened to Aqilah. She misses her abah, when the 3 of us reunited, she always create a scene with hubby, everything doesn’t look right to her but sometimes they are in a good term. Now when hubby is away for a week, she’s looking for him. We made a video call and she was overjoyed seeing hubby face, just like Malay idiom says ‘Jauh bau bunga, dekat bau tahi’..when faraway fragrant as flower, when nearby smelly as dung

p/s: I’m truly blessed when I didn’t encounter any back pain just like a previous week..When I’m in pain hubby will be the masseur..Looks like the pain is clever enough, it only comes when hubby is around.

Updates!!

A very long silence!! Thought this is a blissful month for me but my other half is scheduled for an outstation. I’m still ok, the bad episode is over which the bleeding problem is due to polyps and it has been successfully removed. I’m in a honeymoon part, the 2^nd trimester where I’m getting my energy back and enjoying it to the fullest. Few of to do lists are already in my mind and all need to be completed before this honeymoon is over. Part of it, send my spectra3 BP for a service,booking a midwife, some shopping for the second junior and the list goes on and on..

This little princess is also excited about our 2^nd junior and can’t wait for the time to come. Wishing everything runs well until the delivery date. She’s so talkative and has an imagination friend; few times I caught her talking and sometimes arguing. Hope this is not a bad sign to me. She needs a companion maybe, and the time is just yet to arrive. She starts calling herself 'Kakak'.. :)

This is our weekend activity for 3 consecutive weeks and amazingly her skills improved by trying and observation.. So daring!!

Mom advised me for having a maid but I'm not ready for it. She said the maid can accompany/look after me while hubby on a long outstation but everything is still under control. Hubby's planning to buy a dryer for me, at least it ease my house chores but still it doesn't help me much. I need a machine that can dry my cloths, fold and iron them. Laundry is another option but it is costly..

14 weeks - Bleeding

I’m now in 2^nd trimester with occasional headache and nosebleed in the morning (sometimes).

Something triggered me on last Sunday when I was bleeding. It starts with a red spots at 3pm, I try to relax and thought it will over because I don’t feel any back pain or any pain in my stomach area. But then the bleeding worsens; reddish color. I surf the net and google for miscarriage in 2^nd trimester, read them line by line and try to relate the symptom with mine and the last line said I should go to the doctor. Luckily hubby was around and we off to the nearest clinic and that time was already 6.45pm. Since it was Sunday, most clinics were closed and luckily this one panel clinic was open. I rushed to the clinic, saying to the staff that I’m bleeding and I’m 4 months pregnant. We went into the consultation room, lucky that I’ve went to this clinic before so the doctor knows my history details and there were a series of questions and answers before we proceed with the scanning process. I tried to accept if anything happen to the baby but it’s hard because I’m already in the 2^nd trimester and I was still hoping for good news.

All the worries were answered. The baby size doesn’t shrink, progressing well and active, my placenta is a bit low and the baby is just on top of it. He gave me 2 days rest and medication to stop the bleeding which will stop only after the 3^rd dose and he was right.

p/s: A new experience for me, I was panicked and full of worries..

Tandem Nursing

I met 2 doctors, both are GP and they advised me to stop breastfeeding but I still do it my way. The supply is still there so I just continue. This is what we called ‘Tandem Nursing’ and I finally met my O&G specialist and she agreed with me. No harm, you can continue but you have to know your body and the important thing is your nutrient intake. So, it’s safe to breastfeed!!

My mom is also worried about me, for me as long as it doesn’t harm yourself and your baby and at the same time you are in a constant health, there should be no problem..so you can choose .

p/s: my BP reading is finally back to normal, thanks to spinach!!

Constipation

It’s not a good start, I have to take and urgent leave when the little one dealing with a very bad constipation. She was constipated once in December, brought her to a specialist and get better few days later and now it happens again. I stopped giving her Liquid Paraffin just because I want to do it natural way, giving her more fiber fruits, eat more veggies and taking more fluid but papaya is not her best friend.

The culprit behind all this is the formula milk which I start giving her at 25 months old and at the same time still breastfeeding (nightly basis). I hope this trauma will over soon and she will follow the diet that I’ve prepared for her. You must be scared when hearing the little one crying and yelling, the neighbor’s might think someone is physically abused.

P/s: All this while, I thought banana is a good fruit to fight constipation, but I was totally wrong. The doctor said papaya is the best and guava will help too.

December Update

We finally moved to our new house right after Raya Haji and now adapting to this new environment. No renovation, it’s all basic but we installed a kitchen cabinet to add some color to this house; the living area is still empty but that doesn’t bother me much because Aqilah get a wider space to roam; riding her bicycle and dancing around with her favourite song.She also seems to like her school and has her own favorite teacher, Cikgu Ain. She did a good job!! I saw one of her school artwork which the teacher posted at the school board; a coloring project actually and she got ‘C’ for this. Knowing Aqilah, she easily get bored with one thing, no patience but I think it is just a beginning but I’m happy because she wanted took part in this kind of activity. The teacher wrote her name as ‘Aqilah Kecil’ as there are 2 Aqilah in that school, the big and the small one. The funny thing, the kids called her Aqilah kecil too, so sweet!! Oh ya, most of my neighbours are chinese but that’s not a problem to me, all are friendly except the right neighbour which I don’t think she understands malay or english but a smile is more than enough!!

I know Aqilah is missing her grandma and I’ve explained to her so many time the reason we are here and she slowly understand. I bet, the family in Cheras miss her too.

The Good Old Days

I miss my childhood, growing up with my siblings and tackled each problem created by them. Being the eldest, I’m always a role model for them especially in education. Mom was an English teacher; stern and fierce, and I still remember how the two of us (my brother and me) were forced to finish the ‘Lady Bird’ book, reading sentence by sentence in front of her with a proper pronunciation and how the 2 of us laugh at each other when anyone of us can’t pronounce it well.it was so funny. Anyhow, what she did shaped us to be a better person and I will do the same thing to my kids soon.

My brother doesn’t like writing, he’s more into reading comics and I still remember when he asked my youngest sister to finish his assignment, if I’m not mistaken it was an English essay. Mom was worried with his achievement and one thing for sure; he hates me teaching him mathematics maybe because I don’t have patience. Sometimes I need go with his pace but I didn’t do that just because I think it was a piece of cake. Being a mother, now I know patience is very important for you to cope with your kids. He’s now a better person, with a good job and a wider networking to achieve his sales target. His writing and grammar is improved!!

The youngest has a good brain but her attitude ruin everything. She’s the only sibling who didn’t go to Kiddy; she was in her primary 1 for 2 years and with a good academic achievement but it didn’t last long. Cats are her best friend and I thought she’ll become a veterinary but that is not what she chooses. Funny things, the youngest and the elder brother compete between each other. They don’t see me as their benchmark, maybe it’s too high or too difficult to achieve. Now, the 3 of us are grown up and excel in our own way and those memories remain intact.

Spinach for Hypotension

It’s in the blood. I can’t run away from low BP or hypotension during pregnancy and thus spinach is my best friend nowadays. I also need to munch in between the main meal to avoid fatigue and dizziness.

Some facts about spinach:

Good source of protein, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, folate, calcium, high in iron, potassium, riboflavin, Vitamin K, vitamin B6,phosphorus, copper and manganese.

p/s: As a whole, the baby and I are just fine but still need some nap in between lunch to keep me alive and the tiny bun is start showing. One of my colleague realized of my changes and this is the beauty of being pregnant. Thank God, the workload is still bearable.

Toddler to a Baby

She missed her time and wants to be a baby with more attention and care. One early morning, she woke up and urged to wear his old baby pajamas complete with socks and mittens..The best thing, she laid quietly in her bouncer and she was well behave!!

p/s: Entering 7 weeks of pregnancy and still breastfeeding. The doctor advised me to stop as it might affect the baby, but I just go with the flow and eat well..

Good day!!

No words can describe our feeling and my body is now adapting to this new chapter. Not so much changes on me, indeed an extra care and attention from dearest hubby. Alhamdulillah, no headache or nausea, it is just the same as 2008 with a low BP but it is still tolerable. As usual, I just need to watch my food intake as I’m still breastfeeding, the wean off process is hard but will do it slowly.

I'm 5 weeks now, feeling sleepy and slightly fatigue!! Wishing everything runs well..

November Hopes

I’m hoping for a miracle and a better opportunity.. and at the same time starts planning for Aqilah’s birthday party which is scheduled this end of Nov. I have the list and plans but at the moment keep it to myself, some might involve money and need approval from my partner.

Besides, hoping that we can start moving to our new house by mid Nov with some little decoration and a play area for my little kid and at the same time I’m worried about her new nursery, I really hope she can blend with the new environment. Still hoping that she will finally understand that she needs to go to ‘school’ while I’m working and this time without her grandma around and I keep on telling her about her new school almost every day but she doesn’t look happy. Life will totally change when we move out and a little more adventure but yet there’s still sweetness in it.

Oh ya, I hope I will bloom in whatever I do with some recognition or appreciation.

She turns 2 today, no celebration, no cake cutting but hubby bought her a Play Doh set and 'Blocks' game which is more than enough..Don't worry honey, I'm planning a small birthday party for you but that will be somewhere in end of November when Abah is back in KL..

Few words are clearly understand from her and I'm hoping for more and more and yes, she still breastfeeding. Planning to completely wean off her but it needs some time and thanks to my Spectra3 for being loyal to me and we'll see how the progress goes.

Morning Activity..

She enjoys bread making; her first time exploration. Actually she was disturbing her grandma. She wants her own dough, cutter, tray and rolling pin...all complete.

With the cutter, she wants to cut the dough into a small pieces..she's following what her grandma did

Now with the rolling pin. To our surprise, she really concentrates on her job and spends about an hour

It’s her mommy time which I attended our 10^th year 9600 reunion held at Bora Ombak. We had a wide range of scrumptious food to choose from and the best part when we manage to see each other life after 10 years. Not so much changes on us, the noise and laugh are still the same, gossiping is a must and we talk a lot on our school years..Some try to figure out who’s the block president, updates on our lovely teachers and the list goes on..Time is too limited but the memories are still there and we are planning for another bigger reunion next time. Thanks for the committee for the efforts and planning, good job!!

Little Boss..

She asks money from her grandpa and sometimes from me or whoever around her when she wants to buy something. The worst part, when she heard the honk from ‘mamak roti’ and she knew that’s her time. When it's about 7.50pm, we’ll definitely turn on the tv and put on the sound to the max so that she can’t hear the ‘mamak roti’ sound. But sometimes we forgot to do that and she’ll create a scene when we can’t fulfill her wish. She is so demanding nowadays but I treat it as one of her milestone progress, at least she knows when we want to buy something, we need money. Next step, I must encourage her on saving the money; time to browse for a cute saving box!!

A short but meaningful vacation for the 3 of us..We had fun together, the weather was good and so the food. The most important thing, we maximize our limited time. Aqilah
She asks a lot lately and keeps on asking the same questions and her moms keep on answering it without fail. Sometimes it feels irritating but looking on the positive side, she starts to talk. A few words are clearly understands nowadays, much better than before. The princess 2 is on her way, she’ll turn 2 on 28^th October and I want her to completely wean off. I won’t force her but will do it slowly. At the same time, I’m looking forward to organize a small but meaningful birthday party for her but since hubby is away most of the time starting mid Sept till early Nov, I just need to find a suitable time.

Raya Open House
Raya is not over and we host an open house at my parents’ place. Laksa Johor is a must have menu for each year, all cooked by my mom. Not to forget, our mouth watering dishes; homemade mini fruit tart with strawberry, kiwi and grape topping, simply irresistible. She made 400 pieces of this small and cute fruit tart and her daughters preparing the topping. One funny thing happened to me on that day when someone thought I’m still schooling, a secondary student for sure!! She was surprised when I said I’m a mother to a 23 months tot and she can’t believe it in the first place..she thought I was kidding

Moving
We’ve moved things to our new house last Sunday and will unpack those things slowly. House decoration will begin once the kitchen cabinet installation and wall painting are complete. How I wish to spend lavishly for this new house but that’s only in my dream and will put it into reality when the time comes. We’re not 100% move to our new house, it’s only the things, and our heart and soul are still at our parents’ place.

He wish me on early Monday morning before off to airport, I was blurred and almost forgot the day.

We don’t celebrate either but he gave me something special 3 months earlier, so this time I can’t demand for something else. I’m not demanding but his thought has made my day, grinning ear to ear.

Back at office I received a lot of sms from family and friends and some wish me through FB. Their lovely words are priceless.

3 more years before entering the 3 series and many things need to accomplish. Part of it, hubby’s plan and wish; he wants 3 kids before I reached 30..pheww..We’ll see how it goes.

p/s: Life is a little bit dull for the 2 of us when dearest hubby is out for 3 weeks..

A month older today and I'm proud to announce that she is still breastfeeding, Alhamdulillah.

The best thing is, her 7th and 8th tooth is pop up after waiting for quite some time. She means the world to me.

It has been more than a week where I feel like quitting and didn’t bother so much about work; I even set the boundary, whatever under my scope is mine and the rest, I don’t want to bother. Back home I was busy surfing for the new job and in fact telling hubby about my plan but he gave me one condition.

Expectation is getting higher and higher but the recognition is getting lower and lower. You did the work based on superior’s instruction even somehow it’s not a good decision and yet comes another instruction to start everything all over again and wasting your time, but after all you’re paid for this (though the numbers doesn’t sound promising) and when something bad happened, you’re the one to be blame. Life is unfair, especially when you were questioned for something not under your scope and when you can’t answer, you get another smash!!

After some reflection of the day, I want to start everything fresh, with a new momentum and at the same time looking for a better opportunity; and it is more towards self improvement and self satisfaction. I must be strong!!

Aqilah and her Diaper Rash Blisters

Poor Aqilah, she gets it again for the 2^nd time and of course I blamed the caretaker. I’ve told them so many times to change her nappy frequently but they don’t bother about my words. So bad, out of 5 cloth diapers, they only used 2 so can you imagine how wet my tot is? If she could only speak, that will help a lot. Lucky my parents are back and her grandma offered to babysit her for today, at least it lessen my worries.

I surf about this diaper blister and below are the treatments:

Diaper Change: Change the baby diaper's as soon as you realize that it is soiled or wet. It is advisable that you frequently check the baby's diapers so that you are able to change it quickly. Once you remove the diapers, clean the area covered by it with warm water, not baby wipes, and a diluted antibacterial solution. Then wipe off the water thoroughly with a soft washcloth or towel. Do not put on another diaper immediately. Let the baby be without them for sometime so that the skin gets exposed to some fresh air. This will help heal the diaper rash blisters faster.
Diaper Type: If your baby is prone to developing diaper rash, then it might be due to the type of diaper being used. Try switching over to cloth diapers if you are using disposable ones and vice-a-versa. You can also use cloth diapers at home and the disposable ones when out of home.
Detergents: The detergents used to wash baby clothes and diapers, should be extremely mild. The towels and other clothes used should also be washed with mild detergents, and should be rinsed well and put to dry under the sun. You can also use diluted vinegar to wash baby clothes.
Home Remedies: Application of aloe vera gel, olive oil or milk of magnesia is known to be very beneficial in treating diaper rash blisters. These soothe the skin and speed up the healing process.

It’s a Fasting Month – Ramadhan Al-Mubarak

Ramadhan comes again, the most awaited month for all Muslims. Had sahur for the two of us,(me and my brother), with a simple dish. A lonely feeling I must say; parents and my sis are now in Masjidil Haram performing umrah and hubby as always is away for a week.

Today I’m back to work after 2 days of sick leave, had a terrible headache and flu and the doc wants me to have a good rest so that I could take care of my little princess. She talks a lot nowadays but we had a communication problem; I hardly understand what she said; she speaks on her own language and it’s a try and error for me to understand what she wants. Screaming is her last resort.Sorry my dear, we’ll do it better next time ya.

Breastfeeding in this fasting month is really tough and challenging but I always tune my mind to think positive. It’s not about the quantity; how much bottle of EBM you can produce but it’s about quality. This is the only month where I am so particular about my food and fluid intake just to ensure the milk supply is continuous, hang on mommy, 2months ++ to go because you’re almost there!!

Nursery.Cloth Diapers

Yesterday was the first time Aqilah on full CD at her nursery. All because of the blistered she had, they didn’t change her nappy regularly.

Shocked and frustrated with what was happened to her, I prepared the CD; put the 2 inserts into a pocket diapers and adjust her CD size to ease her ‘teacher’ and explained on how to use it; a very simple and easy step, just like wearing a disposable diapers.

When I fetched her, I was happy because she’s on CD but looks like something went wrong until I reached home and again with another surprise.

Did you get what I mean, the back side of CD now become the front side. They put it wrongly.

The front side with velcro, now become the back side. Sudah terbalik daa..

I was wonder, how did they wear this CD to Aqilah and how long does it take?? haiyaa.. rasa nak marah & at the same time looks funny.

p/s: poor Aqilah, she still reluctant to go to her 'school' but the teacher said there's some progress on her. With what was happened to her, feel like quitting from my current job and do some online business but it's all in my dream..

Happy World Breastfeeding Week 1-7 Aug 2010

Finally, after going through all the obstacles and challenges, I have 3 more months to go before completely weaning off my tot. A great achievement for me as a 1st time mother who is so naive about parenting and breastfeeding but I do it my way, with a strong will and of course with love. It’s never a burden to me, no, it’s not.

I’ve been carrying the breast pump bag and still pumping for almost 21 months without fail. I didn’t bring handbag to office either (a good point for me to save money because I don’t shop for handbags) ; it’s only my laptop and breast pump bag which I’ve been carrying them to my office or to my site. People will look at me twice because they’re thinking I’m carrying a 2 laptop bags, but if they look carefully, they’ll know what‘s the precious thing inside. Sometimes their stare really annoyes me!!

She was about to cry when I fetched her, look a little bit sad but then feel so secured by the time I hugged her. The teacher said its normal for her and not to worry so much because everything is under control and at least her explanation makes me feel better.

A very 1st experience

I’m sending her to a nursery for the first time..it happened this morning which I need to take an EL after my maid was M.I.A for two consecutive days without any notice.
I woke her up, showered and feed her and at the same time telling her she’ll go to school to meet her new friends. She understands me and looks so unhappy for the first time but after a few series of coaxing, she finally accepts it.

I’ve prepared her EBM; put it on a cooler bag (even though the refrigerator is available, I trust my cooler bag more than anything else) and brought along the warmer (because I’m expecting she’s the only person who is still breastfeeding). I’ve set a right expectation and yes she’s the only person at her age who is still breastfeeding, so I’ve explained to the caretaker on how to use the warmer and how to warm the breast milk. A little bit worry for the first time but I hope she’ll do it right.

Today is the beginning and a training for her and me to cope with this new environment. Hmm..thinking of rewarding her something when I fetch her from her ‘school’ this evening.

Moving

The 3 of us will be moving soon and this time a little bit far from my parent’s house. Aqilah will stay at the nursery, a completely new experience for her and I’m still worry about that, all this while she’s safe under my mom’s eyes. A mix feeling, I’m actually happy and eager to move to our new house and in fact, I’ve achieved my mission; to have our own house before we reach 30 (even it’s not a brand new house) ,at least 1 milestone accomplished and more to go..

Most of our clan has visited the house and all agree with our choice, the environment and facilities meet our expectations. Moving forward, we need to wash and clean the house and did some painting and till now the color is not yet decided. Another investment is coming in and I need to spend wisely and I’m thinking of a small business to furnish my dreams and needs.
Hope everything to be resolve before Ramadhan.

I’m touched; it happened on one fine Sunday morning while having a breakfast; of course a homemade fried rice. As usual she wants to feed on her own and I just shut my eye for the mess that she made. When he said he’ll be away for a week, I said ‘Ok, no problem’ but he misinterpreted it. Not that I don’t care about him but it just that I’m used to it. I understand his nature of work and we know the consequences to our family life. But on the good side, we’ll always try to maximize our limited family time; hanging around on weekend is a must. Same goes to Aqilah when she knows her father is always out for work, for one mission, gain money to raise her up, have a well life and at the same time she can demand for any toys she dreamt off.Dearest mister, don’t worry, both of us are safe and doing well!! Bandung Trip - Last Day

Final shopping at Kartika Sari which specialised in layer cake and brownies with different flavor, taste and of course, the price but it is still reasonable. All the cakes, ice cream, Indonesian Kuih' looks tempting to us and you can also have 'Bakso', a must eat dish when you're in Bandung which is located at 1st floor.

Sayonara and till we meet again, an enjoyable and unforgettable trip for all of us.

Bandung Trip - Day 2

This is the day I’ve waiting for, Tangkuban Parahu visit, and the entrance fee is 36k rupiah per person. Street stalls are available which sells cloths, food, souvenirs item, men and women accessories and as usual you must bargain to get a cheaper price. We were greeted by group of seller which promoting their stuff and persuading you to buy it and followed you. Sometimes it’s very annoying but on a good side, they act as an unofficial tourist guide and as our cameraman. In fact, they did tell us about the legend of Tangkuban Parahu and some stuff about Bandung. Surprise, surprise, I bought an ‘Anklung’ a musical instrument which is originated from Indonesia and not in my ‘to buy’ list and yet it’s still nicely wrapped in a box and this is my new buddy.

First day trip is mainly about shopping, had our breakfast at ASTON hotel, then off to Pasar Baru Trade Centre and spend about 5 hours there, a convenient place to shop where you can find a wide range of items to choose from telekung, kain batik, wedding stuffs and many more. The best part, every floor has it specialized goods and products which ease us to pick, choose and bargain.

Had our lunch at Simpang Raya restaurant which serves Padang dishes and they serve us all the available dishes, the rule is, just choose the food that you feel to eat and put aside the rest so that you won’t be charged. Next, our driver brought us to a kids and baby factory outlet which among the cheapest, sorry I forgot what the name is. The boutique design is very cozy and a mini playground is provided too where Aqilah spends most of her time there. So, Raya preparation for Aqilah is considered done.

Final point before we call of our day, we continue our mission to Jalan Riau and there’s plenty factory outlet for you to browse; Heritage, The Secret, Branded Club and etc.
It is also easy for you to find a prayer room because each factory outlet provide this facility but based on my observation, there’s no baby room provided for you to breastfeed your baby or change their nappy and based on the local people, this sort of facility is only provided at a large shopping mall.

Safely Landed..Home Sweet Home

Alhamdulillah, we safely landed from Bandung with no flight delay and everything runs smoothly. A nice family trip of the year (9 pax including my parents in law and beloved grandma) besides a spectacular and unforgettable holiday for my sis as it falls on her 20th birthday, a 2 in 1 package for her. Absolutely a shopping heaven for us and a good therapy especially for me; we eat, laugh, chat and spend a lot. Will be back to work on Monday with a fresher mind and more energetic I hope and I’ll upload more pictures and did some review on the trip on my next post.

News from Singapore

Alhamdulillah, we safely landed in Singapore yesterday evening at 6.45pm. This time, I travelled with Aqilah, our 1st experience flying with JetStar and luckily the flight was on time. She doesn't behave pretty well during the take off..all because of the infant seat belt, she refused to wear it but that's the rule and she cried most of the time and it was annoying for some of the passengers. I have to handle her all alone as hubby was on a different flight and she can't sit still, a moment she will stand up and walk to the next row, then trying to mess up all the in flight magazines and disturbing other people. As a conclusion, she was uncontrollable and I can't wait for the landing time to stop all this torture. Once we landed, she looked extremely exhausted and sleepy. After all, I do appreciate this experience.

Am I Pregnant??

I’ve been asked by this question lately even at the office or by my closest friend. I never say ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ because my answer is so simple..Just wait and see if I change my uniform!!

Pregnancy is not a good news in my department when bosses start thinking they gonna lost their staff for a period of 2 months or more, someone need to take charge of my duty and the company need to pay for your maternity check up + labor charge..But it is all has limit and that is what you’re entitled for!!

I’m still breastfeeding Aqilah at her age of 17 months and I’m not mentally and physically prepared for tandem nursing..so guys, I guess the puzzle is solved!!

Can't wait!! I have he a lot of stories to tell him especially on Aqilah's..he called me every 2 days or whenever he had a chance to call but the line is too bad and we can't talk too much..just a simple hi and to make sure everything's ok and his concern is mostly on Aqilah. I bet Aqilah miss him badly too and I'm sure she's know where's her abah now.

So many things to story about and plan, our vacation trip,life and works!!If you had a chance reading my blog, I had a lousy day at work today especially dealing with moody people who can't accept the nature of team work, so called 'mind your own territory'!! But hello, this is a teamwork that everybody shares their KPI and I'm sick with it!!

On the bright side, Aqilah knows almost the part of her body now and she is so into music & surprisingly she's a big fan of salted fish and now we've to hide it from her sight.

Another Mission

She is so into thumb sucking habit and every time we went for a check up, the doctor will always advised me to stop her habit otherwise, we'll be end up spending money for her orthodentics treatment. No one from my family side has this type of habit but from hubby's side, there's a few people into this and it continues till today. Sometimes it looks cute for other people, but it's a trouble for me.

I've tried rubbing some sort of special leave lately on her thumbs, I'm not sure what's the name is but people usually use it as traditional treatment for high blood and the taste is bitter, as bitter as gall. She looks unsettled and little bit cranky during the night and I pitty her. I know this process need commitment from both of us and it need to be done with full of patience. I'll try my best and wish me luck!!

We Miss Him

We miss him badly and he is away for a minimum of 2 weeks. It hard to get through him though..the reception is very bad which I need to scream every time he call me. Hope he's doing good and safe in the middle of the ocean and I wonder how his look like by the time he get back..he must be all tan!! By the way, this picture taken when we're having fun at Genting last February and it was an ad hoc planned but we enjoyed it!!Please, I'm looking for another vacation to boost up my mind and energy after a busy work.. and this time I want a real vacation, no disturbance from anyone else!!

Beach Story

This is her first time exploration to a beach and she adores beach more than swimming pool. I can see it and it’s all reflected from her excitement and she’s enjoying it to the fullest.

Initially, it was an ad hoc plan..We planned to walk along the beach while snacking and gossiping but it turns out differently. Aqilah went all crazy by the time we reached there and I didn’t bring any extra clothes for her as she straights away headed to the beach. One thing we can’t forget, hubby got a big damaged that day..Guess what, he forgot to remove his mobile phone from his pocket..it’s all wet and turns to a salted phone. Let’s pray for his bonus!!

Kids love water..

I just watched them from far; an unexplainable feeling seeing both of them get along very well and look, she struggling very hard to free herself , she wants more!!

As you all know, the benefits of baby massage are numerous..it increases blood circulation, increase parent - child bonding, helps physical growth of your baby, make your baby feel relax and calm and etc.. Sharing is caring, so I would like to share some of the baby massage technique that I learnt through a baby massage class about more than a year ago. Besides, this entry will help me to remember all these baby massage techniques and tips and will apply to my next generation.

Some tips:

Check the room temperature, not too cold/too hot…make it just nice with you and your baby
Perform eye contact with your baby, smile and talk to her it makes your baby happy and more secure
It is best to undress your baby and the best time to massage your baby is after her shower time.
Use vegetable /edible baby oil. Mine using Almond oil
Try to massage your baby on the same time every day, to let her know that this is her routine
Starts massaging your baby from head to toe than move to baby’s back
Use smooth, gentle but firm strokes with your fingers/palm
Massage your baby while she's alert..don't wake her up for a massage

Facebook, Twitter, Friendster vs. Blogger

I don’t twitter. Yes, I do have friendster but I’ve abandoned it long time ago. Now, facebook is a phenomenon in this era even primary students wants to have a facebook. In my personal opinion, I prefer blogging rather than FB because blogging allows me to express and highlight important updates especially on Aqilah besides sharing some tips and info for successful breastfeeding because I’m obsessed on it.

For me, fb sometimes makes you neglected your office work and this is what happened in my department, when you get something important to be accomplished within a given timeframe by your boss, they simply delay it because of this..There’s no 100% concentration on work because FB is their no.1 priority. Even our IT department has blocked this web access, but still those people are smart enough, because there’s another way for them to pass this through.
Seriously, I don’t like this when people use FB for gossiping and tend to lead to a misconception or misunderstanding of someone’s credibility and personnel when it related to office work. I’m writing this through my experience when my colleague and I stumbled into a discussion and all of a sudden, she raised up something that she knew from FB which absolutely gave a negative impact for me and some of my colleague. But for me, this is a ‘No No’ and I can’t stand with it which makes me to make a clear justification to her and those who did this is so immature..I’m sorry to say this!!

The reason I’m on FB is just to catch up with my long lost friend especially during my secondary and I rarely add my office mate in my friend list because I meet them every day as simple as that and I checked my fb once in a blue moon.
I still heart blogging and I blog during my free time especially at home and most of my post is a scheduled post and I will persuade Aqilah to do so when she grows up.

CNY@Kuantan

We’re back at Kuantan again, he left Kuantan not even a month and now he had to serve his previous company. A little bit different this time, he worked as a vendor and need to complete the task given based on the agreed timeline. But for him, it’s a work and play because he brought his family along.

Feeling bored staying at the hotel room while watching CNY television program during the day, then the two of us spend our time to the nearest shopping mall. We had fun and Aqilah behave pretty well but she went crazy by the time we stopped at the toys shop.

Saving my EBM

Last 2 weeks, there was a 3 hours blackout at my residential area and I only realized my EBM stock after half an hour of that incident. So, I quickly get a vacuum container and bought the ice cubes from the nearest shop for the sake of Aqilah because there’s no Formula Milk in my house and she’s relying 100% on this. Thus, this is what I did:

get a vacuum container

Load it with my EBM and ice cubes.

Put some salts on it (it’s time for me to apply my science knowledge – salt is useful to make the ice cubes maintain icy). Then again, covered my EBM with the ice cubes.

Alhamdulillah, my EBM remain frozen during that 3 hours blackout. I called TNB to get the whole story of this incident, and all this because of an irresponsible person who steals the electric cable and this guy is really troublesome to me..so pathetic!!

p/s: to all breastfeeding mothers, you should have a vacuum container/box to keep your EBM remain frozen when facing this kind of situation.

He can cook and this special burger is specially made for me and the rest of our family. It was just for fun and we invited our parents and nearest relative to celebrate and join us last Saturday night..Sort of a house warming with a very simple dish..After 2 years marriage, this is the first time he cook for me..All done by him and this is what I called ‘Food for Love’.. What’s next after this?? The taste is excellent!!

How do I know my baby get enough foremilk and hindmilk?

I got this tip from a breastfeeding class which I joined last year and would like to share this useful information with my blog readers.
Foremilk: thin and lower in fat content and it satisfies your baby’s thirst. Comes in the beginning of your feeding
Hindmilk: Higher in fat content and calories which satisfy your baby’s hunger. Good for baby health and growth (brain development, etc) and comes at the end of feeding.
It is pretty simple to know your baby get enough nutrients from both of foremilk and hindmilk and it is based on the color of your baby stool.
Green color: Your baby gets too much foremilk and less hindmilk, need to fully empty your breast before offering your baby to the other breast
Yellowish/mustard color: Your baby gets a complete nutrition of your breast milk, foremilk and hindmilk.

Start checking the color of your baby stool now, so easy!!

Farewell Kuantan

Hubby is finally moved to KL and no more weekend family in our diary. All stuffs were successfully transferred to our rental house and in the midst of unpacking some of those stuff and did the house cleaning and deco. After 3 years service, hubby decided to make a move but I knew from the beginning he wanted me move there and I can’t because of my little princess.She’s so attached with her grandma since the day she was born and I’m scared if she can’t adapt staying at the nursery.

I’m gonna miss the beach, waterfall, food, people and the environment and one thing for sure, I won’t forget travelling to Kuantan every weekend by bus, rushing back home from office every Friday to catch the bus and back to KL on Sunday evening and this time both of us were so reluctant to leave each other. The funniest thing, people thought I was a student and both of us were couple and in fact, some people at our residential area thought we’re are not legally married because they found me once a week especially during weekend. Furthermore we’re still new to the neighborhood and people simply speculate about us until our nearest neighbor explained to them about our status.

I’m lucky to have a brother that understands me and willing to fetch me at LRT station every Sunday evening and he’s so tolerant. I miss all those moment until I stop travelling by bus due to my pregnancy and its hubby turn to travel back and forth from Kuantan to Cheras every week and it stops this year; a blessing year for the 3 of us. Alhamdulillah..

STF 9600 - Inspirational Card for Munie

It was a memorable day when about 19 srikandi gathered at Titiwangsa Lake Garden for one and only mission, card dedication for one of our srikandi which was diagnosed with lymphoma cancer. She’s pursuing her study at Germany and now undergone her 1st chemotherapy there. It’s a heartbreaking news when I knew it from facebook and I know she’s strong to pass all this ordeal.. We were classmates in Form 4 and she sat behind me, a very artistic and a happy go lucky person too, she’s active in sports and if I’m not mistaken she’s a softballer. Besides, she’s a young novelist who loves to create short novel and her novel will be passed among her friends who loves to read and comments her writing and I was one of it.

Munie’s story remind me of my cousin which was diagnosed with ovary cancer at the age of 15 and had undergone her chemotherapy and Alhamdulillah she’s now free from cancer but still under doctor observation . All of our family members reunited to give a full commitment and moral support to motivate her and we did our best to cheer her up and now the same thing goes to Munie, hope our inspirational cards will heal her as we could not pay her a visit..

Munie, if you are reading my blog, keep on shining because our love and prays will always be with you. Be strong!!
